We offer three distinct programs that concentrate on teaching the physical and mental benefits of the martial arts. These are Traditional Martial Arts Courses, Off Campus Physical Education, and Martial Arts Consulting. Plus, we teach Pilates classes.

Traditional Martial Arts Courses

We teach three seperate traditional martial arts.

Tang Soo Do Mi Guk Kwan

Meaning the “American school of the empty handed way,” is a classical martial art concerned with scientific and martial theory, form and aesthetics. Tang Soo Do is a composite style influenced by the Northern Chinese arts, the Southern Chinese arts, and the Okinawan discipline of Karate. Because of its martial emphasis, Tang Soo Do is concerned with the natural evolution of practical and effective self-defense technique. While it's roots date back many centuries Tang Soo Do as a formalized system was started in 1945 by Grand Master Hwang Kee. In 1995 Grand Master Charles Ferraro created the Tang Soo Do Mi Guk Kwan to continue teaching the benefits of the art in our country.

Judo

Meaning the “gentle way,” is a modern Japanese martial art and combative sport. Its prominent feature is its competitive element, where the object is to throw one's opponent to the ground, pin them on their back, or otherwise subdue them with a joint lock or choking technique. Judo focuses on the principle of "maximum efficiency", using an attacker's energy against himself rather than directly opposing it. In 1882 Dr. Jigoro Kano created Judo and united most of Japan's Jujitsu schools. Judo became an Olympic sport in 1964. Today it is the 2nd most popular sport in the world.

Pekiti Tersia Kali

Meaning “close quarters combat,” is a fighting system based on the tactics and strategies of edged weapons. This system comes from the Philippines and is commonly known as "Filipino stick fighting". It was founded in 1897 by Grand Master Conrado Tortal. Pekiti Tersia Kali is taught to many military special forces and law enforcement agencies around the world.
